Our Breeding Herd
Here you will find the names, registration numbers, and pedigrees of our breeding boars and sows.
You will notice that some of the hogs are very closely related. This is normal and expected. Linebreeding
and inbreeding are tools commonly used by stewards working to retain the
genetic base present in the available animals. For more information
about this breeding philosophy, we recommend reading the books available
on the
ALBC Website.
While we have several animals listed here, we do not breed all of them to get two litters per sow per year.
If we did, we'd be overrun with piglets! A selection of the animals is breeding at any one time. If you have an interest in
a particular bloodline or parent, let us know and we can notify you when a certain litter is born.
